Swimming Pools

With a great love for nature and the outdoors, and having been fortunate enough to live and work in some places of outstanding natural beauty, if we had it our way, all of the pools we build would be their own eco-systems, with wildlife living in harmony and symbiosis with humans.

We can build any pool to fit in with the design and style of your home. Contemporary or rustic with a natural stone finish, natural pools with water filtrating plants and aquatic life, or even an infinity pool that lets you capture the best part of the vista.

It would be our pleasure to inform you about the many different pool systems on the market. Saltwater pools are now becoming more common due to the fact they are less harmful on the skin (they contain significantly less chlorine content whilst maintaining a safe level of sanitiser in the pool), they turn out cheaper in the long run and do not need the amount of attention and maintenance a chlorine pool needs. We also have experience installing magnesium salt mineral, UV filtered and o-zone pools, all of which are even better for you than the system mentioned above!

Anything you can think of within the possible realms of building, we can install into your pool / landscape design –  lights, electric covers, waterproof speakers, water falls, fountains, jets and diving boards to give you a few ideas!

As part of our service we can also provide general landscaping that accompanies and highlights the beauty of your pool. Planting plans, outdoor kitchens, outdoor showers, pizza ovens and fire pits can all be a lovely addition to your outside space letting you spend those long lazy afternoons in complete relaxation.

Property One

“Wow” is all I can say about this project.

We were lucky enough to be able to stay in this 12 bedroom house, three months each year for two consecutive summers. The owner wanted to eventually build a second tower at the property to gain Chateau status, but to start with, and seeing as the main house already has 12 bedrooms, she wanted a swimming pool, with a beautiful patio to relax on, landscaped beds and sets of sweeping steps to access the area.

We used curves and circles to softly transition from sharp angles and draw you around the acres of woodland and stunning vistas surrounding the property. The pool is 2.8 metres deep at one end which shallow toward the steps. The cover is motorised and pool lined with a soft, mosaic patterned liner.

The pool uses magnesium salts to purify and clean the water, which is smoother and softer on your skin, better for your hair, nearly odourless and requires minimal maintenance when compared to a salt water or traditional chlorine pool.

Property Two

As you will have seen from our website, we did a lot of work at this property, including the addition of a swimming pool, patio area, pergola and decking.

The swimming pool was a hassle free excavation, as the house is at the top of a hill so there was no water table to contend with! We then formed the pool using reinforced steel bars, which were then sprayed with a special type of concrete for swimming pools.

The pool is lined with a soft liner, with a mosaic pattern to mirror the aesthetic of a traditionally tiled pool. It is lovely to walk on, or push off of the skids against as the liner provides a layer of cushioning against the concrete walls.

We used all of the rubble from the old barn that we rebuilt on our home building page, as the hardcore base layer for all of the patio area – upcycle upcycle upclyle! A layer of compacted limestone on top of the hardcore, before the concrete slab, and then finally the patio slabs, left the client with a beautiful patio area, but the decking really topped it off for us!
