Eco Homes

Environmentally friendly building is much more than mud huts and treehouses. There are a vast number of green techniques and materials that can be used in modern buildings, which never detract from, but positively enhance the finished product.

In exploring new sustainable materials, we open up a whole new dimension to building.

Whether that be through the use of:

  • Air/Ground Source Heat Pumps or Passive Buildings to heat and cool efficiently.
  • Smart Wiring your home, to enable you to be as energy efficient as possible, in turn providing great financial savings, whilst also being conscious to the environment by lowering your carbon footprint as much as possible.
  • Sustainably made blocks  for the structure to a house, which have excellent thermal insulation values.

The list goes on, which is why we have dedicated an entire page of our website to sustainable materials / methods of building.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a major driving force for our company.

Every day the construction industry generates an enormous amount of waste. Materials and valuable resources, many of them recyclable, are discarded. This contributes massively to the world’s environmental problems.

As a company, we strive to eliminate waste as much as possible by recycling the materials taken away from a project. They may be taken to reclamation yards, used for future projects or donated to someone in need.

The global environmental crisis is driving innovation and ingenuity in its quest for solutions. We support this approach, and are constantly searching for novel sustainable methods and materials to work with.

Our team, has been involved with sustainability since the companies creation, as in our opinion, a sustainable world, is a better world for everyone.

Eco Construction

Eco-construction is becoming more advanced and less expensive year upon year.

We work with local eco-businesses to find the best options for your home. Building a home sustainably from the inside out means extra costs for day to day living are minimal. Not only do you keep living expenses down but the materials used create a clean home to ensure a healthy life for you and your family.

So many health problems these days can be caused by the carbon production of your home as well as humidity and damp problems. Breathable, plant based, recycled, non-toxic materials can replace most aspects of your homes construction to better your life and help decrease pollution in the world.

Here at Felix Styles we take Sustainable Construction as far as we possibly can with each and every project. Our research into this evolving enterprise has taught us to use products such as natural lime plasters, co2 absorbing hempcrete blocks, cement free products and even walls & ceilings built using ‘Fermacell’ to replace plasterboard, which is made from recycled paper!

However its not just the materials and techniques that can reduce our carbon footprint, but where we source all our products from as well. Transportation costs of construction supplies is a huge factor in the industries carbon production, which is why we are working hard everyday to also source our materials as locally as possible.
