A picture speaks a thousand words.
Well in this case a video.
We have backed it with a beautiful piece of perfectly themed music, for those that want to enjoy the fully immersed experience……
We absolutely love restoring old stone built buildings in a way that recaptures some of the old, and also throw in some of the new at the same time. The two can contrast beautifully if done correctly, often using similar colour tones when transitioning from old to new, really helps everything flow.
Even if we do so say so ourselves, this was an absolute stunner of a project, where our relationship with the clients, was somewhat symbiotic, in that we were always on the same page regarding the finished aesthetic we were trying to achieve, and that they were also keen to use reclaimed materials for appropriate parts of the project – sustainability being something we strongly advocate as a company.
Two hand carved, stone sinks, a door to the master suite, fit for a king, and all of the wood for the new rear entrance, staircase, and planters, came from the reclamation / antique site less than a kilometre from the project. All of the wood needed some tender loving care to restore it to its former glory, the outcome of up-cycling is not only gorgeous aesthetically, but very satisfying internally as well, as you have not just gone and bought new, something, sadly, we all do to readily.
As you will see from the 3D imaging we took of the property, before, during, and after, we totally transformed this house. We renewed every water pipe, sewage pipe, drain pipe and most of the electrics. Excavations were considerable in order for us to make the entire courtyard / outside kitchen one level, and slightly lower the internal ground floor.
The new polished concrete floor leads you from outside to inside seamlessly, where you are also presented with the stunning new entrance. I think ‘as much light as possible’ was the script, which I feel we have achieved, and also with perfect elegance in the symmetry of all the glass panels, and metal framework.
Removing the old bread oven, whilst sad in itself, as it had been such for over a hundred years, allowed us to make way for a larger kitchen space and downstairs toilet. We kept the domed arch effect, similar to the shape of the bread oven, around the window, and cleverly installed a sink where the oven door used to be, with a down light built into the lintel / stonework shining down beautifully on the reclaimed, hand chiseled, stone sink below.
I could continue talking to you all day about the many additions we made to this property – new bathrooms, sinks in every bedroom, master suite with ensuite, air conditioning throughout, the list goes on…..
We thought it easier for you to find out for yourselves, and invite you to take the 3D virtual tours of the project below. This is the first time we have used this technology on a construction site, so we would like to go on to explain why.

The rehabilitation of our house was an exciting adventure from the first moment. What should have been a simple change of paint and toilets ended up being transformed into a comprehensive rehabilitation project and recovery of original materials and spaces.
In this constant adventure and discovery, Steve accompanied us from the first moment, with his advice, professionalism, patience, and very hard work.
He and his team worked tirelessly for more than 4 months so that we could enjoy the new space on our vacation, and he did it without sparing efforts or materials; adapting to our needs and whims with professionalism and always in a good mood.
In this adventure, in addition to a new house, we have gained a friend.
When designing your dream home, either starting from scratch with a new build, or perhaps a full renovation including structural adaptations and a swimming pool, wouldn’t it be useful to be able to take exact measurements of exactly where every cable, drainage system, water and waste pipes, rigid steel joists, lintels, irrigation pipework, network, air conditioning systems are in the walls and ceilings, under the ground, or buried in concrete……well that is exactly what this technology enables us to do.
The technology enables you to overlay each of the individual 3D images, taken at various stages throughout the project, so as you are able to take exact measurements of where everything listed above is against an overlay of your finished house.
You have an x-ray blueprint of your houses infrastructure network forevermore!
……and beautiful walkthroughs of, in this case, the house before you renovated, during, and the finished product!
